The Architecture of the Invisible

Where we are on the timeline

After Celiac Gluten and the 2017 Vatican Ruling, Part V gathers the evidence. The bread reflex is now visible as a layered inheritance rather than a single doctrine, policy, or nutritional mistake.

This chapter defines the reflex.

A reflex is a cultural habit, not necessarily a conscious belief. It is what a society reaches for before it explains why.

The historical claim is synthetic: scripture, prayer, sacrament, doctrine, household, industry, and policy have layered bread with authority. The social claim is modest: those layers do not affect every Western person in the same way. The practical claim is transitional: what becomes visible can be handled more freely.
