Layers Of The Reflex
The bread reflex has layers.
Scripture gives bread idioms of support, gift, temptation, and judgment.1
Prayer teaches Christians to ask for daily bread.2
Eucharist places bread on the altar.3
Doctrine teaches that the species can remain bread-like in natural operation.4
Catechism turns daily bread into household provision. Industry changes the flour. Policy makes grains a public base.
None of these layers alone explains the modern reflex.
Together they make bread feel prior to argument. Bread is what goes on the table, what begins hospitality, what soothes illness, what fills school trays, what restaurants bring before the meal begins.
That is architecture. Most of the time, people do not see it. They live inside it.
