The Petition Reheard
Where we are on the timeline
After Disarming the Reflex, the book returns to the Lord’s Prayer. The final question is not whether the tradition was simply wrong, but how the petition can be heard after the reflex has been exposed.
This chapter offers a working theory, not a new doctrine.
The textual claim remains plural: epiousios (ἐπιούσιος) can be heard through daily, necessary, coming-day, supersubstantial, and kingdom-bread traditions. The practical claim is modest: bread can be received as gift without becoming an unquestioned dietary foundation. The spiritual claim is constructive: gratitude can survive the loss of automatic bread.
