A Post Reflexive Diet

“Post-reflexive” does not mean anti-liturgical.

It means eating after the reflex has been named.

A post-reflexive diet can still include Eucharist, Sabbath bread, feast bread, family bread, or ordinary bread chosen freely. It no longer lets inherited reverence hide refined industrial default.

In practice, that may look plain.

More meals can begin with protein, vegetables, fruit, legumes, dairy, eggs, fish, meat, nuts, roots, or whole grains. Bread can move from foundation to occasion. Refined flour can stop borrowing the moral glow of “daily bread.”

This is not a universal prescription. It is a working theory of attention.

The body, the tradition, the table, and the evidence all get a voice.

That is less dramatic than a ban. It is also more humane.
